Community has been a pillar in our business for over 45 years. That’s why Jandel Homes and Meadows of Morinville partner with local organizations every year at Christmas for the Fill a House campaign.
Fill a House is a collaborative effort between local businesses, neighbors and friends with one mission in mind: to make Christmas a little brighter for those in need. Collecting non-perishable food, toiletries, toys and monetary donations, this initiative has helped hundreds of families feel the magic of Christmas!
We are so humbled that we’ve officially surpassed the $100,000 threshold of total monetary donations this year.
How does Meadows of Morinville specifically get involved with Fill A House?
Meadows of Morinville is the home base for our Fill a House logistics this year. All donations are collected and stored in one of our available homes that will surely be packed to the rafters. Our Sales Centre has collection boxes for you to stop in and drop off your donations. You can also bring donations to our Acheson Sales Centre who will be collecting toys, toiletries, non-perishable food and monetary donations as well.

As you can imagine – filling an entire show home with donations is no easy task! That’s why we work in partnership with the community to get the job done. There are many ways to get involved such as adopting a room alongside our friends at Priority Printing and Capital Vision Care or providing items for our silent auction. Your generosity goes a long way in brightening the holiday season for our community!
Who are our beneficiaries?
You may be wondering who all of this hard work is for. The truth: it’s for regular families just like yours and ours who just need a helping hand for the holidays. This year, we are specifically partnering with Morinville Marvelous Moms’ Adopt a Family program. We must say – these moms truly are marvelous! Their volunteer based organization helps collect donations for local families within Morinville and Sturgeon County communities.
How many lives has this campaign touched?
Hundreds. This year marks the 8th annual Fill a House campaign! A huge milestone was crossed this year where we’ve officially raised over $100,000 in monetary donations. This couldn’t have been possible without the support of our incredible community and sponsors! This year we’ve specifically raised 218 toy donations, 436 food items, 142 toiletries and $9,065 in monetary donations
Who can participate and receive hampers?
The great news is anyone who is in need can participate in this program. All you need to do is fill out an application form with Morinville Marvelous Moms and meet their criteria. Once applications are reviewed and approved, a lovely group of volunteers gets together to assemble and deliver personalized hampers.
Each year, volunteers participate in a wrap day – a mix of organized chaos, excitement and holiday cheer! Before wrap day, there are a few things that get taken care of like our big shopping trip. Monetary donations are used toward a Walmart shopping extravaganza where items on wish lists are checked off. It’s quite a site seeing the volunteers with heaping shopping carts checking out their items!
After lists are filled, the items are brought back to the house and ready to be wrapped. Assembly lines of volunteers pick a mixture of food and toy donations to add to each box before they’re sent out the door for delivery. It’s thanks to the generosity of these volunteers that personalized hampers are able to be dropped off that same day.
